OKC Motherhood Session at the Myriad Gardens | February Family Session

As an artist who loves capturing real connections, I was thrilled to photograph this OKC motherhood session with Ginnifer and her three sweet children. We met at the Myriad Gardens on a bright February afternoon, and despite the winter chill, the light was absolutely beautiful.

This session was part of a special meet-up I organized for local photographers to connect and shoot film together. I am passionate about sharing my love for film photography and helping others learn how to shoot film for themselves. Because of that, gatherings like this mean so much to me.

The gardens, with their year-round beauty, created the perfect backdrop for our cozy, playful shoot. Ginnifer, a talented local photographer herself, wanted images that felt natural, warm, and full of connection — and that’s exactly what we captured.

Although February can be unpredictable in Oklahoma, the cooler weather made everyone want to snuggle a little closer, adding extra tenderness to the photos. We moved slowly through the gardens, allowing space for the kids to explore and play.

During an OKC motherhood session, I always encourage families to focus on each other more than the camera. Genuine laughter, soft cuddles, and spontaneous moments tell the real story of motherhood.

It was a joy to create this opportunity for photographers to practice shooting film while capturing such a meaningful season of motherhood. The love between Ginnifer and her children shines through every frame, and I’m so grateful to have documented it.

My love for photography began in a high school darkroom, watching images slowly appear. Since then, I’ve been drawn to quiet, meaningful moments rooted in connection and home. As a mother of three and a film photographer, I approach each story with care, seeking what’s honest and lasting.

Here on the blog, you’ll find recent sessions, tips, and reflections—whether you’re a fellow creative, a brand, or a mother wanting to capture this season. I hope it leaves you inspired and more in love with your own story.
