The Hayes Family in Millcreek Canyon | A Utah Adventure

Photographing the Hayes family during my recent trip to Utah was such a full-circle moment. I’ve known this sweet crew since they were newly married, and watching their family grow over the years has been such a joy. This Millcreek Canyon family session was a special one—set against the breathtaking mountain backdrop, with golden light and just the right amount of wild adventure.

Millcreek Canyon is one of my favorite places to photograph when I travel to Utah. The light, the quiet, the wide-open nature—it all creates space for families to relax and connect in a beautiful, natural way. We wandered through the trees, let the kids explore, and captured the kind of moments that only happen when everyone feels at ease.

Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. It’s not just about pretty locations—it’s about capturing connection, history, and the quiet beauty of life together. And when I get to do that for a family I’ve known for years? Even better.

Though I’m based in Oklahoma City, I travel to Utah 1–2 times a year, and every trip is an opportunity to photograph families like the Hayes in this incredible setting. If you’re interested in a Millcreek Canyon family session, feel free to reach out about my upcoming travel dates—I’d love to include you.

My love for photography began in a high school darkroom, watching images slowly appear. Since then, I’ve been drawn to quiet, meaningful moments rooted in connection and home. As a mother of three and a film photographer, I approach each story with care, seeking what’s honest and lasting.

Here on the blog, you’ll find recent sessions, tips, and reflections—whether you’re a fellow creative, a brand, or a mother wanting to capture this season. I hope it leaves you inspired and more in love with your own story.
